Hi, I’m Nastassia. I probably have another question.
I’m a new mom to my seven-month-old son and the person behind The New Mom Spiral.
For months, I’ve been religiously consulting Google, ChatGPT, friends, and family about everything from feeding and sleep to whether the completely normal thing my baby just did is, in fact, completely normal.
One question becomes another. One search becomes seventeen open tabs. Eventually, I get an answer, feel better for approximately twelve minutes, and find something new to wonder about.
That’s the spiral. And that’s how this little corner of the internet started.
A lot of love. A lot of figuring it out.
Becoming a mom has brought me moments I wish I could bottle up forever. It has also introduced me to a level of exhaustion, second-guessing, and mental multitasking I wasn’t prepared for.
I’ve tracked bottles and pump sessions, counted ounces, and wondered why something that worked yesterday suddenly wasn’t working today. I’ve watched my milk supply change and discovered how much emotion can get tied up in those little numbers.
I’ve navigated breast milk, formula, and the complicated feelings that can come with feeding your baby. I’ve wanted more sleep and a little more freedom, while feeling sad about the thought of a chapter ending. Apparently, you can be ready for something to change and still not feel ready to let it go.
Then there’s sleep. The short naps. The contact naps. The nights when you think you’ve finally figured something out, only for your baby to introduce a new plot twist.
Meanwhile, work still needs doing. Dinner still needs figuring out. Life keeps moving, even when you’ve been awake for what feels like most of the night.
Sometimes I feel capable. Sometimes I need someone to tell me I’m doing okay. Often, both happen in the same day.
Motherhood doesn’t have to look perfect to be good.
I enjoy a beautiful Instagram feed as much as anyone. And truly, no shade to the moms with immaculate beige houses, coordinated outfits, or the energy to get back into the gym almost immediately postpartum. If that’s working for you, that’s amazing.
But most of us aren’t living that version of motherhood every day.
Even when nobody intends to make you feel bad, seeing polished moment after polished moment can leave you wondering why your own experience feels so different. Why you’re still tired. Why your baby still wakes up. Why everyone else seems to have a routine while you’re making another bottle and asking another question.
I wanted a place where the everyday version belongs, too.
Where you can adore your baby and need a break. Feel grateful and overwhelmed. Enjoy a cuddle while mentally running through everything you haven’t finished.
None of those feelings cancels out the love.
A little less comparison. A little more “same.”
The New Mom Spiral is where I’m sharing the questions, the things I’m learning, the funny moments, and the parts of motherhood that don’t always make the feed.
You’ll find honest conversations about feeding, sleep, the mental load, and getting to know yourself as a mom—alongside practical resources and printables designed to make everyday life a little easier.
I’m still learning. My baby is still changing. The questions keep coming.
My hope is that you leave here feeling a little more understood, with something useful to take into your day—and a little less pressure to make it all look effortless.
You don’t need a perfectly styled house or a baby who sleeps through the night to belong here.
The spiral doesn’t end. It just changes tabs.
